Mom says,

Genetics is a fascinating study and after thinking about this for 3 minutes at 4:00 AM, I'm forced to recognize that emoting does not seem to be a Legler/Simpson trait. I certainly don't emote! In fact, the more stoked I get, the quieter I become. Your dad does not emote in case you haven't noticed. Have you ever watched him watch TV...well for the few minutes before he goes to sleep. No expression on his face. The only time he really emotes is when he gets ripped about politics. So, dear son... genetics does seem to hold true. Apparently emotelessness is a dominant gene. Sorry.

so one of those tickets are for me?

ha. joking, of course. i hate all the venues they're playing on the east coast but am still thinking about compromising my values to go see them.

(you can tell you're getting old when a festival with a lineup including radiohead, cat power, and jack johnson seems like too much effort.)

have fun at the show! dance! seriously, no matter how dumb you look, letting go of caring about that feels damn good.
